I got quite a lot of traffic to my original post for my plan to test out the side hustle that everyone continues to post about on social media How to Make Money on YouTube with Little Effort (Nature Sounds Method).
In this post I talked about making money on YouTube with little to no effort and how I was going to approach the scenario.
Below you will find the results of my effort for the first month. I will post monthly results as we work to build a low effort passive income stream.

1. Time and Effort in January 2022: 5.6 Hours
I want to set a few guidelines up front which I am using to calculate my time.
- I am not counting video rendering time. This time is essentially free to me to do other things
- I am not counting upload time. I will start multiple uploads and let it run overnight so again, this time is my own free time
- I am including the time to create each video, manage the scheduling and meta data for the videos, and the time I spend downloading and looking at content from the royalty free sites I use
Total Produced: 15 videos
Unique content: 7 videos
(For the nature sound videos I produced, I created a 1 minute short, a 1 hour, and finally 10 hour video)
Time spent collecting content: 1 Hour
Time spent editing content: 1.5 Hours
Time spent setting up YouTube data: 160 minutes
Total Time for month ONE: 5.6 Hours
2. Channel Analytics in January 2022:
Reflection
I am not surprised by the numbers at all. I am not sure how well this will work without more effort but we are going to see what happens at thee nd of 1 year.
Seems the YouTube shorts are getting the views and I am not converting any impressions to subscribers but let’s see how February turns out.
